Children's Ministry

Mission Statement

Our mission is to love kids by teaching them the Bible in an engaging and meaningful way, creating a safe and welcoming environment for them to learn and play, and equipping parents to be the primary disciple-makers of their children.

What you can expect on a Sunday morning

We believe discipleship of children is a high calling for both parents and the church. Children’s Ministry is not childcare; it is intentional discipleship for the glory of God in generations to come (Psalm 78).

At SWBC, we take seriously the roles and responsibilities God has given both parents and the church in the teaching and training of children. We value teaching the Bible clearly to children in ways that encourage the parents and children to interact with God’s Word well beyond Sunday mornings.

Worship & Testimonies

Each Sunday morning, classrooms begin with a time of worship & testimonies. We praise God for who He is and we share how we have seen Him at work in our lives.

Scripture Memory & Teaching

Children are taught one verse per month that they commit to memory through repetition, games and songs. Teachers also teach a lesson from the Bible each week out of The Gospel Project curriculum.

Play & Friendship

Each Sunday incorporates play, activities that incorporate the lesson, and opportunities for children to connect with their peers and create lifelong friendships.

Safety

Safety is one of our highest priorities at SWBC. Our servant leaders are background checked and trained annually on safety protocols, including sexual abuse awareness training, classroom safety, and CPR certifications.

Classes & Times

Nursery (0-18 Months)

9:00 AM & 10:45 AM Services
Our nursery team is made up of the most nurturing and experienced women who love babies. They spend time singing, playing, and reading bible stories. This space also functions as a nursing mother's room.

Toddlers (18 mo-4 years)

9:00 AM & 10:45 AM Services
Our toddler class is energetic and fun. Our teachers in this class do a great job incorporating play, crafts, and songs into everything. They will surely get out their wiggles and make friends while they learn about Jesus.

Younger Kids (K-3rd)

9:00 AM & 10:45 AM Services
The younger kids class is where the foundational aspects of faith are starting to take shape. Verses are being memorized, songs of praise are being sung, and true heart transformation is taking place.

Older Kids (4th-5th)

10:45 AM Service Only
Our older kids are asking the big questions - Who is God? What does this mean for my life? Who am I? You can trust that here they will find a safe place to ask questions and make lifelong friendships.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 19:14
